Bit by bit each hand woven item is created with an abundance of thought and energy resulting in a reflection of the individual weaver herself. The Kraal weavings speak a tone of natural mystic, personal touch and emerging artistry. At present the Kraal team operates in Stellenbosch and Genadendal. It aims to combining the different cultural influences of each region into a common vision and then to present the finer details to the people of the world. The most recent project has recently begun in the rural Western Cape town of Genadendal. This town is steeped in heritage and was the first town to offer human rights to the indigenous people of Southern Africa. A fitting place to resurge a work once started... |
