MAMA AFRICA

The image of MAMA AFRICA is as colourful, powerful and graceful as the African continent itself.  Of particular note is MAMA AFRICA's dress.  This we see to be interpersed with colour, shape and pattern.  Each colour and shape is representative of the different creeds, colours, beliefs and peoples of the African continent - MAMA AFRICA represents these people.  You will see MAMA AFRICA is offering her hands up to Mother Earth (GAIA).  The large bird is the bird of peace or hope.  On the edge of her bowl one sees a new born chick representing a fresh era full of life.
